Why nearby customers find you

Google looks at three things. The map is the result.

  1. Nearby customers find you when three things line up: you match what they type, they trust your recent Google reviews, and you’re close enough. This map is the result.
  2. Google tries to show the nearby shop that matches what someone typed, is close enough, and looks trusted. NearLumo does not change your Google listing.
  3. Match what they type: your category and services should use the words people nearby actually search — only for services you offer.
  4. Recent Google reviews: a steady stream of new reviews matters more than a big old pile. Stars are a floor. Lifetime count is slow to catch up.
  5. Close enough: you cannot move the shop this week. The map shows how far your match and reviews still reach.
  6. Hours and photos only show up as a next step when they are clearly behind. They are not a third score.
  7. The NearLumo Score is the result of the nearby map check. It is not a Google score and not a promise you will show first.
